Steve Carey(31) beat Russell Inns(26) 31-25 in the longest match of the day 40 ends in this well fought and narrow contest.
Final
A Match of ones, neither player deserving to lose but it was probably the tight leads of Joe and subsequent loose leads from Steve that decided the contest.

Its believed that the origin of this trophy started with David Pratt one of the Raven BC's Founder members and Secretary of the club when it was formed and Play started at the Raven BC green in 1979.

The competition is generated to balance the wide abilities of club members.
There has been serveral versions of handicaps over the years withe the latest being as follows:
HANDICAPS
Handicaps shall be gained by two points winner, one point runner up to be added to the previous handicap at the end of the season
Handicap gained in all competitions as except doubles.
No handicap greater than 12.
All matches 21 up plus handicap.
Members with over 3 years experience minimum handicap 2.
Members with over 5 years experience minimum handicap 3
Ex Members rejoining Club - handicap to remain not less than handicap obtained during previous membership.
Handicaps to be reduced by one point for members not winning any trophies. A record of all members’ achievements and handicaps will be kept by the Management Committee and may be seen on request
